About HFL Social Networking Site

Welcome to Hope For Limpopo's Community site. This community was established to bring together those dedicated to supporting impoverished women, children and families in the Limpopo Province of South Africa.

Click here to become a member of the Hope for Limpopo community. Membership allows you to take part in a specific 'group or cause' most inspiring to you. You will also be able to connect and collaborate with other Hope For Limpopo members on new ways to help the people of Limpopo in need. To learn about all of the Causes you can take part in, visit our Causes section.

Be a part of a dedicated network of people that works to provide the impoverished community of Limpopo with community projects, education and vocational training, nutrition and health information, educational supplies and equipment, and transportation to and from school, doctors and hospital visits.

Meet Vhuhwavho Nevungoni, one of the first children to attend Vhutshilo Mountain School.

Currently in 8th grade at Ridgeway College (an independent Secondary School), she continues to amaze us with her kindness, intelligence and generosity.  Here is her story.Vhuhwavho Nevhungoni was born on Woman’s day 1999 in Siloam hospital, Limpopo Province. Her mother worked as a domestic cleaner for the Holiday Inn in Johannesburg, South Africa.  In June 2002 she returned to the village suffering from HIV/AIDS related diseases and in December 2002 she died leaving her 2 year old daughter in the care of her aging grandmother who was staying in a hovel on the outskirts of Fondwe village.  In April 2002 the nursing sister from Fondwe clinic brought her to my mobile home where a pre- school for orphans had been started at the beginning of that year.  The sister was worried as the granny was too old to care for her…See More

If you have ever doubted the importance of ‘spreading the HFL word’, we invite you to read on. Whitney Falk’s name was recently mentioned in our Feb 2nd ‘MAGIC!’ blog. We promised to fill you in on how Whitney and her employers have impacted Vhutshilo Mountain School so here goes…Whitney is a relatively new employee at Jefferies, an American global investment bank and institutional securities firm and the largest independent bank in the U.S. They claim that, “With an expanding global network of more than 30 offices worldwide, contributing to society and promoting a diverse work force is important to us.” And they have proven true to their word. Thanks to HFL's generous donors we assisted more Limpopo children in 2012 than ever before!  Here’s a sampling of the great work you've supported:

Sixteen Vhutshilo Mountain School children received complete scholarships; educational costs, school supplies, 2 nutritious meals per day, transport to and from school, clothing and medical support.
